Whoops!
Last week I gave my new speech on Frontier Feminists, and at the end of it, a woman came forward to speak with me. She had a grave expression on her face. Others in the audience seemed to know her, because everybody left the room really quickly.
The woman was a historian, and she immediately began to tell me what I had mentioned in my speech that she believed was wrong. Turns her, her comments boiled down to one item were I had stated things incorrectly.
Actually, much as I hate being corrected, I was glad she had told me about this one mistake I had made. I’m doing some research now to make sure I state things the right way.
I’m glad my listeners are as smart as they are. I want to get everything right when I make my presentation. As I often say, the history behind my novels is often fascinating. Just as often, that history is also complicated!
