2020 a huge year for women

2020 will be a huge year for women’s history, especially in my home town, Philadelphia. The celebrations are tied to the 100 anniversary of American women gaining the right to vote.

There will be museum exhibitions, conferences with professional women and student leaders from around the U.S., and a two-day caravan from Philly to Seneca Falls, where the first Women’s Rights Convention was held in 1848.

Starting in the fall, I’ll also be out there with a new slide presentation and lecture (featuring, among others, Martha Gage, the writer and activist pictured above). My lecture and slides will present the stories of three American women who “found their voices” and moved the cause of women’s right forward in decisive and long-lasting ways.

I’ll keep you up to date on what’s happening in Philly. If anybody has similar news from their own towns, please let me know!
